Blurred Together 2The dim light of the television washed over her, bathing her in the only illumination in the room. Whatever sitcom that played this late at night fell on deaf ears as the empath hugged her book closer to her body. The words washed over her like silk, allowing her to believe in the story that was feed to her ever so slowly. It was rare that she would enjoy a night such as this; typically she had her little one attached to her hip begging for her full attention. Even the thought caused a small smile to tug at the corners of her mouth and a ping of guilt to graze her heart.
Tonight was special. For the first time in a long time she had gotten her child to bed at a decent time, allowing her to take a moment to herself. It was as if there was an unspoken agreement between her and her youngster that tonight would be the calm that was missing from their life. Maybe this would become a regular thing; maybe this was the turning point in her very interesting lifestyle. Single parenthood had its
Rage - Chapter 4It was four am, and Raven was exhausted. Relieved, but exhausted. She sat in the hospital of Jump City, waiting outside of Beast Boy’s room. Out of the other three titans, she was the only one fully awake. Although he desperately tried not to, Cyborg dosed off hours ago. Forty minutes ago, Starfire rested her head on Robin’s shoulder and closed her eyes. They hadn’t opened since. Robin… surprisingly Robin was the first to fall asleep. Raven didn’t know why, considering the fact that he used to stay up all night patrolling Gotham with Batman. A doctor had came out of the room earlier and told Raven she should sleep too, or at least clean herself up. She refused. She was going to be the first one to know if Beast Boy was going to be okay, after the doctors of course. Only problem was, they didn’t really know yet. They knew he was shot of course, but they didn’t know how he managed to live for so long. Raven could only guess it had something to do
Blurred Together 3The smell of breakfast made its way into the small room he was in. His sensitive nose burned as consciousness began to come back to him. Almost instantly he felt weak, his body begged to stay still but he knew that that was not an option for him. The animals within him were restless, needing to find release soon; they clawed at his chest demanding to be acknowledged. With one final intake of air he commanded his eyes to open. Slowly they obeyed revealing the four walls that encased him.
He had never been here before, that much he knew. The dark colored space held a deep lavender sent reminding him of a life once lived. Looking around he noticed that the room was poorly decorated; only having a bed and dresser to occupy the petite space around him. Ebony picture frames hung carelessly from the wall, encasing tasteful art. Soon he noticed a pile of old clothes neatly stacked on the dresser across from him.
With a slight jump, he noticed that his uniform was completely torn to pieces. Wha
The Last Cookie - BBrae DrabbleCharacters belong to DC
“Raven, c’mon, that’s mean!” cried Beast Boy as he watched the purple haired girl’s fingers curl around the last cookie. The exact cookie he had been saving. She glared at him defensively.
“How?” she asked, still holding onto the cookie as Beast Boy stared longingly at it.
“That’s mine!” he snapped as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. It wasn’t.
“I don’t see your name on it.” Raven said and lifted the cookie to her mouth. Beast Boy lunged.
“Hey!” Raven exclaimed as she darted off into the air, almost hitting the ceiling of the tower and just barely missing the incoming changeling. He fell face first into the floor, hands empty because of his failed attempt to get the cookie, and butt sticking in the air. Raven couldn’t help but giggle.
“Don’t laugh!” Beast Boy demanded as he recomposed himself, hands now rubbing his sore head
Rage - Chapter 5Beast Boy stared at the tower. It felt like it had been forever since he was last here. But it had only been a few days. A few completely boring and uncomfortable days.
It hadn’t been too bad. Raven visited a lot and they grew quite close. But… getting shot was still pretty bad.
“You okay?” Raven asked from beside him. She had been the one to accompany him on his way home, much to his relief.
“Y-yeah, it’s just… everything seems so different now.” he replied in a mumble. Raven frowned, and in an attempt to comfort the boy, interlocked her hand within his. His lips slightly quirked into a small smile, but there was no smile in his eyes.
“I’m going to go to my room and rest for a bit-“
“I don’t think you should.” Raven said bluntly. Beast Boy’s brow furrowed in confusion.
“Why?” he asked, whipping his head around to face her’s.
“Because you’ve been cooped up in a white
Rage - Chapter 3It had been so long since Raven left the tower to search for the Changeling. And she had found nothing. The moon glowed in the night sky, the rain poured and continued to do so right now, and still nothing. What was she missing?
“B-Beast Boy? G-Garfield?” she called for what felt like the millionth time that day. And again for what felt like the millionth time that day, she received no answer. Her body shivered. Not at the cold of the rain, but at the thoughts of what could have happened to Beast Boy.
Raven shook the thought out of her head and soared across the city faster. She wasn’t giving up until she found him, no matter what state he could be in.
Dead end. Dead end. ANOTHER DEAD END.
No matter where or how hard she looked, she could not find any sign of him. It was dark, it was cold, and her body couldn’t handle the stress. Objects around her like trashcans and cardboard boxes would occasionally blow up whenever she flew near them. She wasn’t calm. H
Rage - Chapter 2Raven wouldn’t have believed him, if it wasn’t for the tone in his voice. He sounded weak and desperate. He sounded honest.
They were the words she had been patiently waiting to hear spill out of his mouth ever since she fell for him years ago… But something wasn’t right. She felt no joy or excitement or fulfilment, only fear. Something was wrong. Something was terribly wrong.
“G-Garfield,” she stammered, fear consuming her. “where are you?” she had already reached the door of her dark room and yanked it open in haste. All she heard from the phone was an outburst of coughs and splutters, and low groans of what sounded like pain.
“Garfield! what’s happening?!” she screamed into the phone. “Why aren’t you answering?!” she demanded. There was a deep breath on the other side of the phone.
“…I-I l-love you, Raven.” Beast Boy repeated in an almost silent, raspy voice before the phone clicked
Rage - Chapter 1It was scary. Terrifying actually, to think that in just a matter of seconds a person’s life could change so drastically.
Beast Boy didn’t know what went wrong. He had never felt so much terror. One thing knew for certain was that there was blood. A lot of it. His body had never felt so much pain as it did right now. It was his blood. All of it came from his own green broken body. And he didn’t know why.
“that’ll teach you to mess with me, stupid freak.” said a cold voice from the shadows. Beast Boy knew it belonged to the man who put him in this position. He just didn’t know why the man did it. All Beast Boy was doing was turning a corner into an alley, humming a chirpy tune as he did so, excited for the tofu that sat in the fridge of Titan’s Tower. His humming and excitement quickly faded away when a hooded man jumped out from behind another wall with a gun in his hand. His brain didn’t even get the chance to click before it
Blurred TogetherThe test she held in her hand burned against her grey skin. The pressure of its results weighted down on her soul, pulling her deeper and deeper into the abyss. How could she let this happen, how could little miss oh so cautious be so careless. This mistake wasn’t a light one, in fact it was a life changer and that was the last thing she needed right now.
She watched the two blue lines, waiting for them to change at any moment. Waiting for the universe to realize its poor choice in judgment and reverse what was happening. However, the more she stared, the more the lines shone through every false sense of security she had left.
This was happening.
And the timing couldn’t be any worse.
Raven’s body released the breath she was holding as she slumped back against the bathroom door. Her legs nearly gave out and she was forced in to a sitting position immediately. Her brain drifted to her rocky relationship, the one whose seas had been unforgiving for the past weeks. It was
